Hi, I just picked up a 67 skylark, and the quarters are shot. I picked up some replacements from cross canada parts, up here in southern ontario, that are full length and only half hieght. When I hold the factory wheel covers up to the wheel opening, it appears that the new wheel opening is about 1.5 to 2 inches smaller then the old one. So... before I weld them up I would like to hear if anyone has done this before. Is the opening supposed to be smaller? The sticker on the panels say they are for a 67 2 door, so I'm drawing a blank as to how they will fit.
    Thanks.

Where in south ont. are you?
Those don't fit too well. They are made to fit over the existing 1/4's. Then any trim/skirts will not fit properly.

Thanks for quick response Ray. I'm in cobourg, its about an hour east of toronto. I read a thread about a 67 electra that turned out really good, and he bought his panels from cross canada. The fella who did it cut out the old quarter, and I'm planning on doing the same, so would it be possible to make it fit somehow??? I also contemplated using factory size chevelle panels, but wasn't sure if they would fit. If not, do you know of anywhere where I can get some better ones, or possibly a vintage junk yard?
    thanks.

Depending on how far gone your 1/4's are you may be better off making patch panels. Or use those you have to form some.
If you can find some you will pay through the nose for them as good aftermarket one ones are N/A.

my 1/4s are really rotten. I was wondering if i could maybe cut the panels I have into two in the middle of the wheel opening, and then fabbing up a 1.5 inch patch panel for in between. This would most likely solve the size problem, but because you said that they are meant to be placed over the old 1/4s, I am now wondering if they will be too thin? Could I perhaps brace them from behind somehow?
