While out looking for olds parts came across a 1967 Riviera gs in a junk yard. If anyone is intrested in parts let me know and I will see if they are still there. They plan on crushing in about 2 months. I believe the motor has been changed has a egr valve on it. Im in southwest VA.
If by any small chance it still has the original Star Wars air cleaner, (which is red and squarish), grab it as they are worth a few bucks.:TU: Also, if you're so inclined, check for a posi diff which it probably has. They also command a nice price, especially if it's a 3.42 ratio.
If it still has the original manifolds on it, I would be interested in them. If you can post a pic of the drivers side that would be great, that way I can see if they are the originals. Thanks.
If it has a console and shifter I would be interested in the shifter. (assuming it works of course) Scott
If by some weird chance this is a standard interior - and I'm guessing precious few GS's were - where the power window switches are on the door panel vs on the arm rest (as with the deluxe) please feel free to grab the short door straps. Those I would be interested in getting if they're intact. Also interested in the headlight motor if it works. The biggest ticket item to grab would be the posi rear end. I don't personally need one but if you can score it, you will get a tidy $um for it while doing the Riviera and big Buick community a giant favor of the save. Interior items too, especially if it's a console /bucket car radio, if it's AM/FM (look for the stereo box under the dash if it's a stereo) and any good chrome / trim / badge items.
Sent my son down to check on the car yesterday no posi or air cleaner or door handle pulls. Motor by carb numbers appears to be 73. Did remove the bucket seats, console, shifter, tilt steering column, grill headlight assembly. He took some pictures will try to post later .Will try to make it back to car this weekend and check on engine wiring harness.
Couldnt make it back to the car yesterday but have some pictures my son took when he was there on tuesday> Will try again next weekend
Hmmm by the looks of that engine bay the engine harness is probably no better then mine. Thanks for investigating anyways. Cheers
That is a deluxe interior. The chrome pieces around the interior windows/windshield posts are worth something too if they are not dented up. Gas tank is also worth something if it isn't rotted out or dented up as well. Later, Randy
