Had a hard time trying to get a picture to fit on there. saying the picture was to large? But i can email pictures to you if you like.
A nice size for posting here is 640 x 480 pixels, preferably in .jpg format. Feel free to email them to me if you can't get the sizing issue worked out.
Don't know how to post pictures on here, but I can send some pictures to an email address for anyone who is interested. Thanks
David, my email link is in the post above. Just click on "Dave's Email" in post #3. Send me the pics, I'll fix 'em up, and post them here for you. Send full-size originals.
Man, I am soooo tempted! What color is the interior? It looks blue in the photos. How bad is the trunk rust? I assume the engine number you listed was cast and not stamped? How much per mile to haul it? Thanks, Dan
The interior is blue, felt, not original. The trunk rust is closer towards the bumper, from a scale between 1-10, 10 being the worst, i would say it is about 4. the code is cast
So, in short, the engine, trans and rear end are the originals; the trunk rust is not through the sheetmetal, but has some pits to fill; the car has only one spot of bondo from a rust repair, but no collision damage or frame issues; the top and interior need replacing to be correct. May I assume it's a running/driving and fairly dependable vehicle needing only the top repaired before summer enjoyment can be had? I am not expecting a new car, but need to know what electrical, mechanical and cosmetic issues I am gong to have to deal with. Too, is it originally a white car, or has the color been changed? What does the data plate say in the paint and trim column? How's the chrome? Dented bumpers, deep pits, or is it pretty good for a driver? Thanks, Dan
Is it only stainless steel, or is there a rubber insert running thru the middle? It kind of looks like it from the distance of the pic. Just trying to figure out if it is original trim, or maybe aftermarket. You don't happen to have the build sheet for this car, do you? Some of us have been trying to find a documented 68 GS with the stainless body-side trim from the factory.
Yes trunk only has some pits to be filled, everyone i have spoken to about the rust says it is very minimum, no collision or frame damage. Trans, engine, and rear are original. Steering wheel is cracked around horn and missing stereo. Yes Top and Interior need replacing. It is a fairly dependable vehicle for driving. The plate that has paint code on it goes like this: 10A2174 ST 68-44667KAN TR 152-A- 20 Body G-8 Paint Electrical windows are not in working order right now, front passanger side headlight the chrome that goes around it on the inside is missing. We have just gotten a slight tune up on the car. Tires are very old and need to be replaced. Think the original color was white, but now the color has a white pearl finish. I would say the car is very good shape considering the age. Thank you
Here's a trunk shot. David, the side trim with rubber insert would be an aftermarket installation, maybe at the dealer.
Much as I hate to, I have to pass...I am smack in the middle of two '66 convertible projects, and need to be realistic with my play money. Thanks for the daydreams. Dan
David do you have some interior and engine pictures you can post or e-mail? And could you deliver to Minnesota? Thanks!
