http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/1306593403.html Wow this is an extremely rare car. Though similar to the Skylark Gran Sport California Special that was produced in 1968 the Colorado Special was only sold by three dealers in Colorado. There were only 4800 California Specials produced accross the country and of those only 3 dealers in Colorado sold the Colorado Special. This car is running great but has a little rust on the front driver pannel. Fix that and get it painted and you will have one sick ride! I GARUNTEE YOU WILL NOT FIND THIS CAR FOR SALE IN THIS CONDITION ANYWHERE ELSE! (trust me ive looked) Please come and take a look. You can contact Jordan at (303)-945-5574 P.S. The pics were taken with my phone and I can send you more if you want
As to the Colorado or the price ? The Colorado is a real thing - only way to prove it though is with paperwork. There also were Carolina GS's
I have never heard of such a thing. I woulda thought it was fake if you guys didn't say otherwise. Very interesting:Comp:
The California was done by Buick and sold nationwide through the dealership network. The Colorado/Carolina was, from what I've read, a re-badging of the California by specific regional dealerships outside of the national/corporate reach.
I know the California's are not extremely valuable, but I've never seen one of these for sale. How much is it really worth?
there is an episode on my classic car which this guy owns one.they talk about it and I think only in 68 there were less then 200 made. the dealers were trying to match the success of selling them in CA that they got the CA GS took the emblem off and made there own emblem.as the guys mention their were only 3 dealer in CO that did it I believe that there were only in 68 and 69
I own a 69 CA gs and the Carolina gs well that new to me. I would have to see one to believe it anybody??
I'm still not sure about the GS Carolina. If the emblems were of the same script as the Colorado and the California I would be more apt to believe that it was a regional dealers marketing thing.
thanks george so she does exist. first time virgin Carolina gs wow very cool! I can speak for all Canadians that there not too many here in Canada. thanks for the pics what's the story behind that
Sorry but I wont be doing the JIG over this one I dont like the car and certainly not the price besides the BS emblem what makes this so special?
Absolutely NOTHING, Joe :TU: . It was a re-badged GS California. Based on theblue color, I believe I read somewhere many of these Carolina GS's were painted that North Carolina robin-egg blue color. I agree with you on the price. :beers2: Did you get the new one home yet?
My Brother had a GS California but I never heard of the other two. I don't want one but I do find it interesting as heck. Thanks for sharing George!
