    Grendel The answer is 42...

I'm looking into getting a 3.42 posi rear put into my 1972 Riviera and was curious as to what make/model would work? I found a 1968 Riviera GS junker with the rear end in it, but would that work? Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks, Nick

A 68 rear will not work

:Smarty: the only years you could get a 3.42 posi was 71 or 72
and they are tough to come by

I put one in my 72 riv and it made a big difference

:Smarty: here's a link to what you need

    yours is the 9 3/8

If I could find a 2.93 posi I'd probably change it back...... but i'd never put an open diff. back in it
