I am finally starting to make some progress on my '68 GS400. I thought I would share some pictures. I have installed new quarters and replaced the trunk floor with a three piece kit, along with lots of fabrication, priming, and sanding. The 455 (in disguise) is installed and runs great. I got the chance to take it for a "spin" up the road. We live on a dead end street so things tend to get a little crazy at times (we have been breaking in the new neighbors). I have been trying to decide on a color. The picture of the drivers side shows the original blue (teal blue mist). I am also considering switching to bright red. Either way, the plan is to install the black vinyl top back on it once it is painted. Let me know what you think.:TU: The picture of the car in dark blue is before the restoration started (the picture looks much better than the car actually was).
nice work, my first GS was a 69 GS400 and to this day i still love those body lines. yours is going to be beautful when done
here is an update....It is almost done other than replacing some worn hood hinges and a sticky speedometer. It is a blast to drive! Well worth the time and money spent!
Every so often a car will "catch my eye", and your car is definitly one of them. Nice color combo and stance!! Looks great!! Steve
Thanks for the compliments. I also wanted to take the time to thank everyone that helped it all come together: joeslark painekiller eric6659 wheelz "The Parts Place" "TA Performance" "Original parts Group" and many more that I purchased parts from (that I cant remember their user names-sorry):TU:
Nice work! This takes me back about 6 years. I have enjoyed just driving my car since I put the time and effort into my home resto project. They are meant to be driven, and I wish you the best in your car. Be very proud of it -
You have a ton or work into that baby. Very nice job and great progress from your post in 11/09. I do really like that color and think you made a wise choice. It must be very satisfying to finally get to drive the completed project after everything you've done. Congratulations!
