1968 Buick SkyLark Fender Skirts. Very good condition. No Rust, very straight. Came off a beautiful Skylark but the owner doesn’t like skirts, at least not on his Buicks. This includes the trim as shown in the pictures. I can’t say enough about how good of condition these are. $200 plus shipping or Pick Up In Reynoldsburg Ohio 43068
Just wondering, you didn’t mention the mounting brackets. Are they able to come off of the car or are they welded on?
All I have are the skirts, what you see in the pictures above. Most people which is the case with these, remove the brackets on the car and cut some of the fender well lip off for bigger tire clearance. When I purchased some skirts for one of my cars the owner didn’t like the skirts and sold them but he still had a factory sized tires and I was able to locate skirts to match close and fortunately the mounting hardware points were still in tact. Pictured below.
The 68 69 skylark shared the same quarter panels with the exception of the marker light shapes. 68’s had different side trim. Others may chime in the differences, but as far as I know the wheel openings are the same. I personally haven’t observed as many 69 cars with skirts. It seems 68 had many I just searched 69 skylarks with wheels skirts and I didn’t see any 69’s in my results… people, like the looks of skirt or they don’t and many removed them… back when they were main modes of transportation, I am sure they were snow and ice, mud and salt catchers promoting rust.
$145 plus the cost of shipping. If interested send me your city and zip code and I’ll get the weight and cost to ship…
Not offered in 69, I have them on my 68 body. Unfortunately the whole install depends upon the welded structural track (located in the middle of the wheel well fore/aft), where the skirt hooks into when installed into position. This reinforcing track is an integral part of the fender assembly of the 68 body design. If you don't originally have it in your 68, you will be welding your perimeter wheel well and repainting the rear quarter panel at a minimum. As a comparative example: imagine the work involved changing a regular hood to one with hood scoops. You could always do what I did, get a 68 main body. The 68 rear side marker shields, vinyl roof chromes, and wheel skirts are way better than the 69 version, and the 69 model has a way better grill and hood and front fender gills (yet to be installed).
Chris, If you don't find a buyer for those skirts, let me know what it would take to make it worth your while packaging and mailing them to me. I might need a spare pair, and I could not live with the fact of them going to the scrapper. thanks
Yeah, the added 69 crossbar and the the big medallion just clouded up a clean crisp classic 68 grill. The 68 version was way better. As an owner of both a 68 and a 69, the 68s had much better selection/style on everything except the front fender side gills and the hood scoops/Ram air. With those two features, the 69s were the clear style winners on style points. I have the brand new side gills in a box, but I have to take the hood off and the fenders to install the gills. Not looking forward to that project!
