Does anyone know of a car or have pictures of one with rocker trim? I can't find one but my 68 Custom Coupe has clips on the driver side and strangely removed and filled on the passenger side.

Anyone have an idea what these are? Home experiment?

This is an original owner 23K mile 68 GS. It was bought off of the dealer lot with the rocker trim on it. Rocker trim was not an option for 68 GS's so it must have been a dealer installed item.

68 and 69 used the same chrome trim on the Skylark custom. I have a pair if you are looking for some.

Thanks Mike and Buicksky. Appreciate the offer of a set but I'll keep it simple with less. Just couldn't figure it out but huge thanks for the picture and mine being a Custom makes sense.

I could easily see a ‘Buick’ customer saying ‘it looks like the trim is missing’ and a dealer fixing that for him. My parents ordered a ‘76 Electra 225 and Dad was disappointed when it arrived with no wide trim along the ventiport line. The dealer installed it.
I think it looked like this car:

And he expected it to look like this:
