Hey guys, like the title states I'm looking for some tire and wheel size info on what i can fit regarding 17s on a 1968 skylark convertible.

    Would love a staggered fitment.

Ive done some searching but a lot of confusing posts, was hoping i could get it narrowed down here.

    Thanks alot.

Post the back spacing you are using. That is what the OP really needs to know. That's the factor that makes it fit.

I thought the 68-69 needed more back spacing on an 8" wheel. How's the clearance on the outside? Got room to spare on the inside?

Rear clearance is 1'' outside to quarter lip and 2'' inside to well I was going to go 255/45 on rear but didn't want to shave the center quarter flange

That's what I mean. My bud Alan Wander (69gs400s) has 8" wheels in the back with 5" of back space, and a 275 tire. The 5" back space would center the wheel in the well.

skirt flange is 1/2'' so i'm 1-1/2'' to 2'' but like the 275 look too
