Does anyone have an extra underhood driver side hoodscoop plate? This is the plastic plate that muffs against the foam on the aircleaner.

Thanks Fred, please do. I'm inventorying what I need for this Stage1 4 speed I'm restoring and I'll probably need other parts as well. BTW,you wouldn't have any stage1 hood emblems or 4speed parts would you?

    I may have some 69 4-speed parts.

I think I have a BB z-bar to clutch pedal rod and maybe even the switch for under the dash.

I have clutch parts, but need everything with the shifter, handle on down and the safety linkage up to the steering column.

The only parts I have for that are the Aftermarket shifter arms and competition plus shifter that Motion put in my car.

I think the shifter arm “top” is original but it was welded and offset to a different bottom for the shifter.
    Sorry.

Thanks. I believe Todd M. has a complete repo setup.

The set Todd sells is the 70-72 set up, which is completely different for a 69.

If you need to see what the 69 set up looks like I can probably post a picture of the assembly manual page later.

The 4speed linkage is different ? I wasn't aware. The handle is the same right?

The handle is the same and the shifter is the same, as it’s a competition plus shifter without the positive stops, but from what I remember everything else is different.

I remember going thru hell trying to find the 69 Buick reverse lock out rods/brackets, until I talked to a buddy of mine that had a set from a car he scrapped. He needed a 70-72 set-up, so the swap was on.

Until then those parts were like un-obtanium. Of course I was trying to put the car together quickly too.

My car was also an early car, so I never bothered to check when/if they changed over to the 70-72 style late in the 69 model year. That info might be in the early 70 assembly manuals. I don’t know.

Jason might know more about this. I got my shifter, minus handle, and the rods from him. The reverse lock out parts came from my buddy. (Not that Jason is not my buddy.)

    PS,
If you go thru the thread I posted here while we were building the “Motion Equipped” car it will have pics showing all the correct 69 rods, levers, and reverse lockout parts.

I will pop the thread up to the top.

I just looked at that thread and all the original style 69 parts are on the first page, layed out on my back porch.

thanks for the info Duane. I don't know why I took another 69 on, a glutton for punishment I guess, its a sickness. But its a #'s 69 stage1 4speed; gotta do it.lol

Is that definitely for a 69 Fred?

I don't know. Hopefully Duane knows. the 3216274 matches the pics in his thread. May have the reverse lock out rod as well.

The shifter itself should work, but the arms and brackets attached to them look like the 70-72 set up, and there are no reverse lock out pieces there.

At least you could get the shifter out of that. I would still ask Jason to confirm.

As far as doing a 69 resto, sometimes that’s just what you need to do. Just look at me.
