    OK,
I have 1 correction and some more info.
    First the correction,
The car did not come with a Holly 4 barrel it came with a Holly 3 barrel carb. That Carb is the one that has been restored and re-plated and goes with the car...........also the B4B intake is notched out for the 3 barrel.

Now as to condition of drive train parts,
The car was built in Oshua Canada and came with a 3:55 Posi Chevy 12-bolt rear. The rear and heads are rebuilt and go with the car. He has a pair of repro Mickey Thompson long tube headers that I believe are powder coated, and they also go with the car. (The ones in the above pic are a used dented up pair and not the clean new ones I am talking about, thank you Jim for the pic.)
The 4-speed trans is also rebuilt and included with the sale.
He also has a new set of 10.5 to 1 compression flat top pistons, and an original factory (not reproduction) Stage 2 cam that has seen either almost no use or is most likely an NOS part. (It was sold to him as NOS) There is also a pair of very nice re-chromed 69 factory valve covers included which are ready to receive the Motion emblems. (The original ones with the "emblem scars" were a bit rusty.)

    ...........and the last thing,
Included with the sale are documents that he got from GM of Canada showing all the options the car came with when it was first built. These docs prove the car came with red-line tires, and a set of these are also included in the sale.

    That's all for now. Enjoy.

PS. I forgot to answer about the paint scheme.
Only the raised section of the 69 GS hood is painted White and has a thin pinstripe around it. So it looks kind of like a "V" in shape. The hood also has some white pin striping at the front center of the hood.

The trunk lid was blue with only the depressed center section painted white with dual white pinstripes along each edge. If you look at the above pic that Mr. Lore posted, you can almost make out the pinstripes at the edge of the trunk depression just to the left of the emblem. They follow the body line.

I also don't remember if the Motion emblems were on the hood where the 400 or Stage 1 emblems would go, or were on the front fenders. It's been too long since I have seen the front of the car to remember.

The paint scheme kind of reminds me of the one they used on the 70 Phase 3 Corvettes, but altered to the Buick body style.

Trying to put this as respectfully as possible and I presume there is further documentation, but the letter from Motion states, "We feel quite certain..."

Feel is not the same as are.

Duane - thanks a bunch from all us StepChildren for taking the time to let us know the straight scoop.

    .. Was this a Stage car ?

.. and for those that are curious about the "Motion" cars, it was like a hot rod shop run next door (actually down the street) from the dealership.

It was THE car to have back in the crazy days here on L.I. but elsewhere too. Those who went in and ordered a "Phase" car from them went out and beat up on 98% of the people on the street.

Being a L.I. StepChild lover .. I'd love to bring this one home.

The building is still there at 600 Sunrise Hwy. Its occupied by a repair shop and a stereo/ custom wheel place. Nassau County's properties are all online now. You can look up the current property card. Interestingly, the building is currently owned by "Motion Realty"

I believe that Mr Rosen writes all his Documents this way for the cars that would have gone thru the Motion Performance part of the business. If the car was a Chevy that was sold new at the dealership, that is a whole different animal. They would be Baldwin Motion Cars.

From what I understand he does not have records for the cars that went thru the shop, but does have them for the cars that went thru the dealership. The Motion X had the same type of documentation.

You need an awful lot of info before Mr. Rosen would give you that letter. He knows what types of things his business was doing to cars, and you need to give him detailed descriptions/pictures of what and where the mods were done to the vehicle. Case in point, while chasing the docs for the Motion X we talked to some of the techs that worked there and found out that the same parts were installed in different areas depending on whether the car came with AC or not. I was expecting to find certain "scars" on the GSX that were not there, and at the time was concerned because they did not match the placement on Jimmy's car. The techs told us the "scars" were correct for a car with AC. We would have had no idea what was correct or not.

We were also fortunate with the X in being able to talk to the techs that actually worked on the car. That was a big bonus as we knew exactly what was done to the car.

If Mr. Rosen had any question about this car Jimmy would not have gotten that letter.

Baldwin Chevrolet was a few blocks away on the corner of Merrick Rd and Central Ave. Its long gone. I think there is a 7-11 there now

Looks like whomever brings it home is going to need 2 trucks, a u-haul truck and a trailer...and about 2 days of inventory...lol

I think they're referred to as "shop cars". It was a large part of his business. A friend of mine worked there back in the heyday

And that's a Great question.... Duane, if you know is this how it's being auctioned ? All the parts frame ect AT the auction site ? Sounds pretty daunting.

I know all the parts are on site, I have been walking around these piles for 25 years now.
I have been talking to the owner only, and Jimmy says all the parts I have talked about go with the vehicle. He does not want to see the car split up, but wants to see it finished.

I have not talked to any of the Auction people, and did not know about any of this until a few weeks ago.
The nice thing about this car is he has all the hard to find parts, and as you can tell from the descriptions, he was working on getting the chassis done.

Sounds like a fun car to finish. I could be a Step Child lover if I could get my hands on this car. Any guess on how much it will go for? I might look into it

some of the super car guys are freaking out about the language in the Motion letter....i know nothing about it, but they are way smarter on those cars than most...

"feel quite certain" is what they are worried abut
