    Prepare for lots of questions...

By the end of the weekend I should be a proud owner of a 69 Riv.

I'm excited. Runs drives and stops - has some rust issues under the vinyl top. That has me nervous.

Congrats and welcome to de club. Glad it is not destined for donk wheels, lambo doors, 6-8 flat-panel screens & neon paintjob, etc...

    Who said it's not?!?!?

J/K - I'd never do that - car is beautiful enough. I'll showcase what the Buick designers intended the car to be.

I think they're really cool cars.

Congrats! HOPE the Rust is manageable.

I have always been a '69 fan :TU:

Thanks - I PM'd him to warn him of questions and parts that will be requested from me. I'd love to take the Riv up there so he can see it!!

Is this the 69 that was for sale here last week? Id not be worried about the rust under the top. I had bubbles under my vinyl when I got the car and when I pulled the material back to redo the top it was just rust powder with a very small bit of pitting under it. Wire wheeled it clean, primed it and laid the new top on. easy and looks perfect.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Riviera !! :Do No:
Looks like a nice "fixer upper" that will keep you busy for quite a while., The '69 is a kissing cousin to the '68 - remember that when your sourcing parts.
Next best investment for your Riv is a '69 Buick Chassis Service Manual, and a '69 Fisher Body Manual. You'll get a lot of answers to those questions you thought you were going to ask !!
Check out the Riviera Owners Association (ROA) from the link in my signature, also a good source for information on your car.

( . . . that rear deck plastic defroster grill is made from "unobtanium", so treat it with care, as they get very brittle from the hot sun glaring through the rear window glass !!)

Have some fun, and enjoy that '69 !! :beer :TU:

Yup - it was. Went over to York to take a look at it and drove it. Nice and quiet and drives straight, stops well. Couldn't beat the price.

Definitely interested - but I still have to get the car first. I'll let you know when it's in my possession.
