love to torture myself looking at cars in Washington state(I know it's been brought up before, but why are there so many great, fairly cheap cars in that state???) Not a Buick, but when did you last see one of these???

cheap?, not always, but the reason there are so many preserved is due to mainly no salt on the roads in winter. Lot's of folks have garages so the weather does not eat away as bad, and eastern washington is airid climate which also preserves the cars compared to mid west and east coast.

    That's a great looking Poncho!

Ah, I had wondered about garages, if they were more common in Washington, than in other places. Less humidity helps as well.
I live in Atlanta, and the old Rust free southern car, is a joke, unless it was garage kept at home and work!
That ventura??? If it was at a dealer in Atlanta, it would be easily double the price. And wouldn't look as nice.
It's too bad Craigslist listings expire so quickly. I have seen prices that seem like they are right out of 1979, and the car will have no rust, and nice interior.
People in your neck of the woods just seem to take better car of cars, overall....

I think also that WA State is surprising rural (outside of Seattle, Spokane & Olympia) and as my friends from there always tell me, people move there and rarely move away ... combined with fairly mild weather and low/no salt mean cars go there and stay there. IMO.
