I don't think people realize the amount of work involved to make a removable hard top. You can't just lop it off and set it back on. There's latch mechanisms, weatherstripping, headliner, sail panels, wiring for dome lights, the body work involved in connecting the rear deck to the "trunk", etc....Unfortunately I think most people that think it's a good idea to do something like this kill a bunch of cars thinking it is as easy as "cut it off, set it back on". I've looked at a few Caddys that were done this way because they're cheap, but a "roadster" Cadillac has little appeal or use here, and by the time I get a new roof and weld it back on, we could've just started with a good car.
