Up for grabs here is a 1970 Buick 455 Carb # 7040240 (MD) with a build date of 075 0 (March 16th 1970) I just recently purchased this carb and had it sent to Mark at Quadra Jet Power to be concours restored to STAGE 1 Specs. I did this thinking I'd never find the right Stage 1 Carb for my own personal car (Especially with the right build date) Well as luck would have it James Weinman set me up with a Stage 1 Carb that just happened to have the right build date as well so I no longer need this carb. A real Stage 1 Carb is Part # 7040246 - This Carb is 7040240. So only 1 Digit away from being "correct" as far as numbers go. So if you're in a similar situation to what I was this may be a great carb for someone NOT wanting to spend the kind of money a True Stage 1 Carb commands.
