1970 buick GS 455 4 spd w/ GSX clone package http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4558339825&category=16124
Quote from seller:THIS A REAL 1970 455 FOUR SPEED BUICK SKYLARK G.S. VERIFIED BY VIN AND BUILD SHEET. A SUPER NICE CLONE GSX PACKAGE HAS BEEN ADDED TO THIS CAR. It's rare enough being a '70 GS 455 4 spd. It's about one of the closest to real looking clones i've seen in awhile, if I hadn't known better, I would've thought it was a true GSX.
No question that it appears to be just as nice of a car fro less money. I like it myself. I am curious about the engine code.
Could be it is a stage one car or it could be a non stage car with a stage one carb on it. It is easy to verify this car and I am puzzled why he has not done so.
Has me stumped too..He claims the deck numbers are gone but I would like to know if the tranny is a BB or whatever...Strange as if he could prove this he could possibly get more for it too.
The red pin stripe looks closer to the black stripe going up to the rear air foil, but further away from the black stripe going down the length of the car.Not that it matters,I like it too.I'm curious,is the red pin stripe suppose to be 1/8" and an 1/8" away from the black stripe?
Manual trans didn't come with a BB stamp. That was the code for a Stage 1 tranny. This would have been an M21 car. The hole in the floor for the shifter was probably modified for that shifter - the hole does not appear quite correct - I doubt it's a Competition Plus shifter as was stock. He got the right steering wheel - couldn't find a consolette though - tough to get those. Prolly <not a real word> wouldn't line up with the wrong shifter though. Interesting how the passenger side striping doesn't line up - note to cloners - don't the stripe unless car is on the ground and doors are at finished height. Darn nice workmanship overall though.
I am 99% positive that this car was on ebay about a year ago out of Texas, price was $15k I think. This is the link to the earlier thread
Check the VIN guys!!! The "434" indicates it is "only" a Skylark NOT A GS at all !!! So if you are bidding be aware of this. Yes, it a nice looking car, but it's falsely advertised. Pete
Pete, He gave the wrong vin in the ad and corrected it in the question section. It is a real GS. Here is what he wrote: THE ACTUAL VIN TAKEN FROM DASH AND TITLE IS 446370265900.SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE
