This will be interesting. If I am not mistaken this is the car thats been mini tubbed and once had the dual blower BBB engine. I am floored its a real X but hey its up to the owner to do as he pleases. I hope Ken does well with the sale. I love the car myself but would never be able to put that much $$ together for a car.

It is a garaged body would be more accurate:beer

I have seen the car in person many times and I would love to have it.
Very well done. As for what was done 30 years ago, what's done is done,it's still a legit GSX:TU:

But the engine was built by an ex Nascar engine builder and not a Buick expert.
I'm sure no one on here would want it except me.:bla:

Just incase their is someone who doesn't know the NAS CAR engine builder who worked for three of the most notable race teams in history is also that long time Buick engine builder Doug Jones. He just recently rebuilt it with only about 6-10 runs on it since then. Dave Benisek and Bruce Kent along with Oliver Colteryahn were the ones who have spent a good part of their life and money campaigning that car. They managed to pull over 800HP out of a motor with relatively low compression compared to most professional drag race engines but heads that perform better on the track than yours might on a flow bench. Remember this is only a few inches over 455! Not your 600-700+ TA motor (Maybe down the road). If it sells the proceeds go to the TA BBB Blown fuel Dragster, and better Cylinder heads. Next time you see any of these guys you should thank them for their contribution to the high level of Buick performance we enjoy today!

A lot of questions have been asked about the specs. on this car. Out of respect for the new owner and competition NONE will be given! Am I missing something? Or is that rude?

Got Santa pulling double shifts (no pun) for me here.

Running side by each with Dave Mongeon's "Nobody's Fool, would be cool.

That was originally Ollie Colteryahn's car. I have an old magazine with it in it. He was running 12s and would spray it into the 11s. And...at the time we thought that was so fast!
    What happened to Ollie?

Cool, I was racing an original paint yellow X in the early 80s when he was. I thought I was flying running 12.70s with open stock manifolds (unique sound). His car inspired me even though I had never seen it in person.

All this race talk reminds me of Doug Jones when he threw a 455 S2 iron head motor together with used pistons on a shelf at KB. He took it to OC. He had carb problems that caused a stumble right after the car launched. A minor adjustment and the car stayed alive. He didn't care about braking out, he just wanted to beat the hemi next to him. Well he did! A lot of people gathered around and I still remember people saying "it only has ONE four barrel" Those were the days! Yep, but it was a 1000 CFM 4 bbl. That was back in the mid 70's. Oh I think the car ran 10.67 at 131.
I really would like to keep this car but I have several I need to sell. I want to move next year, scale down and take it easier. That's if you call racing, easier than doing nothing.

Been busting chops here about this car. Got a call in for an advance on Christmas for 2012, 2013, 2014 and many more.

I also have a magazine with his car in it that I had him autograph...he was a pleasure to meet and talk too.

A lot of history with that car!
