1970 Buick lesabre 455 with posi. Square cover. What years use this type of rear?

    It would be 100% with LeSabre 455s which this one is. The 350 powered LeSabres used the smaller rear ends and the ones with 455s used the larger rear end ring gears.

    Oh, say it ain't so! I did not know all Lesabre 455s had posi rears.

    I bought an ugly 70 Lesabre 455 4 door and swapped it's engine into my 71 GS 350 several years ago...then salvaged the car to get rid of it. I could have paid for the car with the posi rear!

    I think all the 455 Lesabres had the bigger rear, but they may not have all been Posi.

    The 1970 LeSabre 455 got the big 9-3/8" rear axle as standard, but posi-traction was still an option.
