Good luck to the seller at that price.

He has it on eBay too with a Buy it Now of $19,500.
Nice looking car and all, but unless an extremely exceptional example, the 2nd Gen Rivieras aren't commanding that kind of money. Yet.
Especially true for a non GS 1970 model.
There has been a Sandpiper Beige '70 similar to mine on eBay for weeks now with a starting price of $7500. Don't know what the reserve is on it, but despite some bids, it just keeps getting re-listed over and over again.

From what the seller's ad describes the car. It needs work and both inside and out.

It is a nice 70 Riv with the cornering lamps and Riviera chrome wheels with the Riviera "R" spinners. Also it has the 70 Riv custom paint job option with the curvy spear and of course the great fender skirts. From the description, it has been repainted. This Riv has buckets and a console as options and also a passenger side mirror! I wonder what other options this Riv has like the good stuff: posi, disk brakes, four note horn, etc...

I do not think the steering wheel is original. It looks very much like a 1969 Riviera steering wheel with the vinyl pad on it like my 69 Riv steering wheel. Every 70 Riviera steering wheel in pictures and in person that I have seen is a straight bar center very similar to the 1970 Skylarks. Maybe somebody could correct me, but did Buick supply their Riv's with two styles of steering wheels for that year? Maybe Buick had some left over steering wheels from 1969 and installed the leftovers on the first several days of production for the 1970 Riv.

It is a nice Riv, but it seems that $19,500 is a bit high. I could see perhaps $15,000 for a perfectly functioning car with everything working and very minimal rust. Also the two piece driveshaft better be competely quiet and not rumble like mine does.

OK, after further review by clicking the photobucket link, I can see a bit more. This Riv has Buick cruisemaster and for this price, it better work!

No original Buick floormats, but it does have the big original trunkmat.

There is the little optional Buick wastebasket in front of the short console. For 1970, the long console had the shifter in the console on the floor while the short console has the shifter on the steering column. The faux wood grain on the dash is cracked, but this is quite typical.

Original door lock knobs have been replaced with the tamper resistant straight door locks handles.

No disk brakes, at least judging by the brake pedal.

AM-FM radio. Do not know if it has a rear speaker or not. No B-U-I-C-K pushbuttons.

Hood insulation is missing, but this can be replaced with ease.

The yellow Pennzoil oil filter is actually made by Fram, which may be a cause for concern in some quarters. As long as the oil was changed frequently, the engine should be OK. Otherwise, a typical greasy and grimy Buick big block with a rusty air cleaner.

Same style wheel my current '70 has, and the same wheel the '70 I owned in the early 80's also had.
You can see a picture of it in my V8Buick garage.

I've seen the wheel you mention though used in some '70 Rivieras. I don't know what triggered one style being used over the other.
