I have attempted to research this question in the 1970 Fisher Body Service Manual, but I'll ask here to clarify. Should there be any visible trim screws in the rear quarter trim panel (deluxe interior w/basketweave inserts) when installed? I have never noticed any on these cars personally, but I'm not sure that I have seen a factory-installed quarter trim panel to know what is actually correct. Here's what gives me pause. Have a look at the back of a passenger side quarter trim panel. Note the hole on the metal portion of the panel that is located high on the rear of the part. Now, here's a shot of what looks like it might be the corresponding hole in the body. I'm hesitant to punch a hole in a panel for a screw that is visible and may not be correct. Does anyone have thoughts on what may be correct?
In a word, no. There is a screw in that panel but it's behind the metal spacer piece between the seat and panel [EDIT- I just noticed that screw in your pic]
Thank you. That's what I've always thought, but I noticed those holes and began to second-guess myself.
