Anyone have any ideas on radio antennas? I have the antenna built into the windshield. I had a nova many years ago that was et up the same way with the hidden antenna. The problem is as I am sure you all know, it is very inadequate for bringing in stations. Is there anyone that makes a hidden antenna for these cars or will I eventually have to bore the hole and install one? Any ideas ...... :Do No: .......POPS

I haven't had any problems with my antenna - make sure yours is connected tightly.

Well, I have to advise not putting in a whip antenna or a mast just on general 'don't cut your body' principles

I have the same windsheild antenna. To tell the truth, it's at least as good as the one in my '97 Riviera- I get all the same stations. I live near the coast, too

If you're having reception problems, it's probably the contacts at the base of the windsheild that's giving you trouble.

It's your car, but please don't cut into the quarter or fender to put in some measly antenna

    Antenna

I ditched my fender antenna on the '68, welded up the hole, and bought a later style windshield with the integral antenna. Looks much cleaner and it works better.

I'd suspect a broken connection or bad radio if your windshield anenna doesn't work.

In the past Radio Shack sold a "antenae booster" that worked extremely well. I used one on a 79 Trans Am I had that also had poor reception with the factory windshield antenae. We purchased the car new and the stock radio always had poor reception until the purchase of the booster. You could set the radio on AM or FM virtually anywhere on the dial where there was no station/signal and turn on the booster and you would have a clear station where one did not exist before.

Unit was very small with an on/off switch. Your antenae would hook up to the booster and the the booster lead would run to the radio antenae plug. A 12 volt power source was all that was needed.

This Radio Shack product was fantastic!!!!!

The windshield antannae work fine. Check the cable to the radio...

Definitely check the connection - my in-windshield antenna picks up stations better than my parent's newer cars with the rod antenna. Maybe something is wrong with the radio itself?

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Windshield does generally work well, but you could run a splitter and mount a booster and horizontal antenna attached to your backseat tucked under the top well. Dual antenna would help in less populated areas.
