    All,

I have a 1971 Skylark Custom convertible. I want to use a 1970 GS grill; and I also have a GS hood that I intend to install. I've been advised I will need 1970 headlight bezels and a GS "hood lip". What is the latter and does someone have a photo and/or a source for the "hood lip"? Thanks.

The hood lip is the chromed piece on the front end of your hood.

    Mike, V8,

Thanks. I have that piece atrtached to the hood already. There is a small "ding" so I may consider replacement if I cannot remove.

I have a decent pair of '70 Headlight Bezels for sale, PM for details.

If you are using a 70 grille then you will also need a 70 front bumper and bumper brackets.

You will also need to change the hood latch support bracket, lower latch mechanism, and the latch rod for 1970 parts.

    James,

thanks. Easily done, as I don't have any of those parts at the moment, even for the '71. I'll change everything over to '70.

    Heres a 72 (similar differences from 70)

Note the hood chrome, is a couple inches tall, and has a painted section to match the car.
Also note how the chrome section lines up with the chrome section on the headlight Bezels.

Here's a 70, you can see the differences in the hood chrome and headigh[IMG]

Also here's 1970 headlight bezels, note the protruding piece that lines up with the painted section under the grill

And heres the 71 bezels, no angled protruding piece

    Curtis,

Thank you very much. Now I am certain. I much prefer the '70 and '72 over the '71 grills. :) Thanks for your trouble, and for pointing out the visual differences.
