Hi! Do some of you guys have a spare 1970-72 mirror mounting base ( the one you bolts to the door and then you mount the mirror on it with a single screw) and the black plastic gasket? It's for a RH side mirror, but I think it's the same from the LH side. The mirror is the "Tri Shield" for my 1970 GS Stage1. Thanks in advance! Regards - Hans
The mounting base will not be the same right to left side - screw hole to mount the mirror to the base would have the opposite orientation.
Me thinks the base is the same "side to side"....same idea as fender emblems. Just do a "180" with one and will work either side. Holes for mounting base to door are exactly the same spacing.
If you take the left base and put it on the right, the tang where the screw goes in to hold the mirror in place would be facing in on the right side. Unless you want your right mirror ponting inward, it will not work.
Politely disagree. If you have a left hand base and gasket all you need to do is trim the "guide pin" from the gasket and everything works on the right side.
I have this gasket, with the bracket and the three screws. The bracket for the chrome mirror carries the same part number, unlike the sport mirrors, which do have a specified left and right position. Matt
Hi Matt! I'm very sorry my late answer, but have been out of town!! I would like to buy the mirror parts from you if the price is fair. How do I pay you? Card, pay-pal or send you cash? Thanks in advance! Regards - Hans
