Hoping this is an easy one... Need a 1970 J code ignition lock.
Long, irrelevant backstory, since I'm in the mood to babble... :)
About 10 years ago I backed into my parking spot at the Red Roof after a bout of racing BSA and the key wouldn't turn. The next morning we went to Scotty's. They were closed, but unloading a delivery. I explained my dilema, and they sold me a new GM ignition lock for peanuts. (God bless Scotty's, may they rest in peace...)
Re-restoring the car, and need to fix having three keys on my key ring. I've got the original warrantly pamphlet with Protect-O-Plate and original key knock-outs taped to it. Time to "make it right." (Sure hope I can find an old school locksmith to finish the job...)
    Thanks,
    Nick

Should be stamped on the key head, near the lock. If it is 1970, it is J. The letter represents the arrangements of the grooves in the key. An H will not go into a J lock. GM rotated these every 4 years, at that time.

I checked the lock I have and a J key goes in nice and smooth, I will ship it with the Dip stick and tube if we can agree I will send pic in the AM.

    Thanks Johnny

EDIT This lock came from a 72 if I remember right.

Why don't you just get a new ignition lock cylinder coded to the doors? That way you'll be back to one square key for the doors and ignition?
