I am looking for a complete lock set for a 70 GS. "J" ignition and door cylinders with keys "K" trunk and glove box. Thanks, John
I bought the following from SS396 and called them to assure that it was the correct J and K set for 1970. They said it was, and its what arrived. I would double check because I got burned on seat foams...Said one thing and shipped another thing a few months ago. Also, the outside key hole for the glove box lock for a Chevelle is different than a Buick. I know I found on the Buick Performance page on how to take the lock apart. I remember doing that, but trying to remember how and if I actually rekeyed the lock. Meaning taking the individual gold tumblers/locks out of the new Chevelle glove box lock and put them carefully in the same order into my Buick lock. I believe I did that. Used a pick to push up and needle nose pliers to grab them. I recall searching either on here or google to see that. It's been a couple years since I've done this...Bought the locks back in July 2020 https://www.ss396.com/chevelle/LID-70-OE.html https://www.ss396.com/chevelle/LGT-70A.html http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/GloveBoxLock.htm
I’ve parted a lot of 1970 Skylarks and GS’s I can looks through my parts. You need ignition, doors, and trunk,or do you need all that AND the glovebox too?
I removed the cylinder from my May/70 parts car and it is stamped 8F35. However,I have not found the original GM keys. The keys in it now are ACE hardware replacements. The ignition key has a J and the door/trunk key has a K. Still searching for more.
Not having the original keys is okay, as I have a stash of GM original blanks. Is this a complete set?
