Seems there is a NOS 1970 GS Grille on E-Bay with a buy-it-now price of $895. Taken out of the original box only for the picture. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34204&item=2440385709 Just thought someone might be needing it. Decent price from what I have seen for less quality grilles. To bad mine is a '71, I would snap this up for a spare.
Something told me to buy all these when they were discontinued around 1986. Sometimes I really should listen to the little voices in my head. John
] When these grills sell at that price, what is the first thing out of the seller's mouth???
Hey Jerry rember when I used to but 70 Grills for 50.00 & overflow tank's for 18.00 back in the mid 80"s!!!!!!!!!:jd: :jd: cool huh?:bglasses:
I thought I remember getting the grills for around $40 with that discount you were getting. Yes I remember the 18.00 overflow tanks. I also remember that set of NOS wheel opening mouldings you had too. Man what were we thinking? That they would always be sitting on the shelf at the dealer??? ou:
That's right about 42.00 than they went up to 60.00 & we just about had a COW :eek2: Remember ou: Man the good ol day's :ball: :ball: :af: The wheel moulding's we're 36.00 apiece uzzled: a little steep & center cap's we're 14.00 each man:gt: 20/20's everything:bglasses: if we only knew:Smarty: :TU: :beer
Hi Guys, I bought mine at the local dealership back in 1990 for $98 and change....never thought to ask about how much the supply was dwindling.ou:
I also remember when premium gas was 40 cents per gallon and people would get mad and pull away from the pumps if you raised the price 1 penny a gallon. And Milk was 1.00 a gallon and smokes were 35 cents a pack . Everything just keeps going up . But then again look at what the average income was back then . Oh yes ..... The good ole days !
I think I earned about $15/hr in 1995 when I paid $140 for my NIB grille. So I guess I need to earn $90/hr according to the Inflationary Buick Parts Index (IBPI). I need a raise.
GS GRILL The guy who is selling the grill is no good. He was selling a pair of 1970 NOS taillight lenses about a month ago. I won them and when I got them they were used!!! When I sent them back he kept $50 for handling cherges. I told Ebay and of course they did nothing, So don't buy anything from originality_plus he's a rip off!! Ernie
Re: GS GRILL Ernie - Could you please post this in 'Buyer/Seller Feedback' so we can all be aware of what this company has done to you? Thanks!
