This is some pics of the process of the car from when I purchased it a year ago to now. Going all the way through with this thing. In the process of Rebuilding the motor and body work.
Nice project! It's funny I always hated the '70 Rivs but once you own one and see one every day it grows on you.
thanks, yeah I totally understand, the 70 is the redheaded step-child of the 2nd gen Rivs, but it's hard to beat a first year 455, Especially when I bought the car for 200 bucks  I still eventually one day would like to add a 70 GS/GSX clone to the mix, but I have to finish the Riv first, and not to mention a newly purchased 66 Cutlass.
It's nice to see one being restored. I have always liked the 70 Rivs. It might have something to do with whats under the hood. Bob H.
I know it may not be the best part of the car, but other than the 455 my favorite part of the car is that checkmark piece of chrome down the side of the car.
Little background on the motor, Motor that was in it was a 76, but i also got the original 70 when i bought the car. Using the 76 block "stronger/ bigger oil passages" and using the 70 heads, just got everything back from the machine shop, and getting ready to put it all back together.
In the process of blocking the first couple spots of primer, Hence the misting of black over the rest. The trunk lid has been knocked down and sprayed with rust reformer. Just getting it super smooth for it's black paint :Brow:
I apologize for not being on here lately, been busy with the rest of life's events, Finally got a chance to work on the Rivi again so here are some updates, enjoy!
Thanks guys, and yes i am having fun, doesn't matter how bad of a day i might have during the week, it is always fun when i get a chance to work on the Riv, but there is the occasional busted knuckle and cursing, but thats all part of the game!
