I'm looking for original upholstery to redo the burnished saddle split bench front seat in my 1970 GS Skylark. Only the waffle material needs to be in usable shape, as my upholsterer can remove the original waffle material from an old seat and install it into a new cover. Perhaps you have some old back seats lying around? Thank you for your help.

welll.. I have a set of original REAR SEATS 70... I believe the waffle style insert pattern you are looking for will be about the same size as the fronts seats??? Only problem I see is. . , mine are dark green. O"SURE they can be dyed... just dunno HOW original you are trying to achieve... :Do No:

Lemono if you have interest and I will post some pix...

Mike, let me look, I did have some brown/saddle form seats, need to look to see if I still have it and how much I have.

Mike, I looked and found 2 upper bucket seat covers, one good one with some damage in the insert area, some of it could be used. Also, rear seat top and bottom, three of the four inserts are good, other has some useable areas. If you are interested I can take pictures and post. Thanks Bill.

Thanks you two for checking what you have. A good point was made that I should be sure that the rear seat inserts are at least as big as those in the front seats. I'll double check this.

I am expecting to have to vinyl dye whatever I find.

I don't think that pictures are necessary. The waffle insert has to be usable "as is", as I won't be able to repair any damage or piece a couple of bad ones together to make a good one.

I've gotten a bit discouraged, as I washed and cleaned some original upholstery on an old rear seat that looked very good at first, but I found some kind of small tear in nearly every waffle insert piece.

    Mike,

I know what you're going through. This happened to me in the early 1990s. I believe I have what you need. Are you still looking? IF SO please PM me with an estimate of the yardage you need.
