I am looking for a reproduction emergency brake cable assembly that is correct for a 1970 Skylark GS 455 4 speed. Any ideas where I can find the cable?
Front? I bought one a few years ago from Inline Tube but have never installed it (if so, get it from @ToddsGS). I just bought a new AC Delco on Rock Auto (IIRC I got a front and center) just to see what they look like. I need to buy rears. Anyone ever use these: https://bruinbrakecables.com/ Watching to see what others have to say.
You're in luck. In 1970, the 350 auto and 455 manual cars all used the same emergency brake hardware. 1970 GS 455 auto used different cables, probably due to the TH400 transmission. -mike p.s. If this is Phillip, I probably have what you need!
The 4-speed cars and the TH350 cars use the same front and intermediate brake cables. The TH400 cars use a longer front cable and slightly shorter intermediate cable due to the crossmember being positioned further back on the frame. I get all of those parts from Inline Tube.
If he is interested,I have a 400 cross member, with the hook to attach the cable. The hook is different then the 350.Bruno.
