Plus front running light assemblies, and front bumper brackets, ......and after all that it's going to be harder to open the hood.
The 71 front grille follows the edge of the hood, so you cannot reach under the hood to pull it up like on a 70. Without the spring on the hood to pop it up a little, opening up the hood would be fun.

    PS,
You also need to replace the hood latch support, plus hood latch rod and lower assembly, so it works for the 71 grill & bumper.

Other then that I think you’re good.

Thanks guys for the answers. Sounds very complicated. The thing is I have a '71 rear bumper but the car is a '70. So I'll probably buy a used '70 rear bumper and sell the old one.

Looks like a 71-72 grille on a 1970 Skylark. Is this possible or does it require modifications? Or is it bolt on, just the grille?

It looks like just a grille swap. It's not a very finished look to me. It does work, though.

All you need is the 70 grille. Make sure you get the right mount studs, though. 71 and 72 are different lengths. The grille in there now is a 72
