Wanted: 1970 Skylark radiator 2 or 3 core must hold water no leaks Can pick up at Norwalk Also looking for box /pail of 1970 Skylark front end sheetmetal body fasteners Thanks 519 264 9595 rich@purestockauto.com
Rich, If you are looking for 1970 Skylark front end sheetmetal body fasteners you need to let people know if its a Flint or GMAD built car. The threads are different. GMAD use National Coarse, while Flint uses an even larger thread. If you mix & match it ends up cross threading the parts. Just something to think about. Duane
Rich, Many many bolts for the front end...state which ones you need...I have 1 gallon buckets of all kinds of hardware.
you say Flint used something even larger - larger than SAE coarse thread? Interesting. Any clarifications? also - what is GMAD - General Motors At Detroit?? to the best of my knowledge - SAE = Society of Automotive Engineers.
"you say Flint used something even larger - larger than SAE coarse thread? Interesting. Any clarifications?" What clarifications do you need? If you look at the body bolts on the cars you will see the differences. "also - what is GMAD - General Motors At Detroit??" GMAD is General Motors Assembly Division. They are in charge of the majority of the production plants, which for the 70-72 Buick A-bodies were; Fremont, Ca. Framingham, Ma. & Kansas City, Mo. (Leeds) Flint Michigan was run by Buick not GMAD, so they decided which bolt companies to use. They were not forced to comply with what the GMAD plants were using. The same thing went on in Lansing, Mi. Oldsmobile ran that production plant and they dictated what they wanted to use, not GMAD. Duane PS. If you want some type of paperwork proof just look in a 70-72 Buick Skylark Assembly manual. There are many instances were Flint vs GMAD bolts are called out. PSS. The only reason I even said anything about this was because I didn't want Rich to end up cross threading the captured nuts in the sheetmetal. They can be a PITA if this happens and they pop out of the panels. If I could help him from doing this and wasting his time, then it was worth it.
Thanks Duane Just looking for general fasteners Flint front end sheetmetal fasteners would be best. Thanks
