I have had a '70 Stage-1 short block (SS) sitting around for years, I was going to use it in one of my '70 stg-1, 4-spds. But have changed that plan, the numbers stamped in the block is #163974, its my belief that this is a very early number (my nov '69 built car starts with #17....) It'd be great if I could reunite the block with the correct car, I know its a long shot, but.......stranger things have happen'd. The only history about the block that I know is that I bought it off a barn floor when I lived in Flint, many years ago. If no luck, I will post it for sale in the classifieds after a while.

Guys, if this can not be reunited with the correct car, I MAY decide to use in my other '70 if not it'll be posted in the parts for sale section. THANKS!

How about contacting Jeff Taylor at Sloan and asking him if they have ever provided documents for that VIN. If the answer is yes then you know the car exists.

Jeff just got back with me. He says they have the names of people who have requested VIN reports but they don't save the actual VINS. Too bad.
