    Chris Lott 4 speed finally

Looks like a pretty sweet package for someone. I think this car was for sale in Dallas a couple months back on Autotrader. Did anyone else happen to see it there? It was a Diplomat Blue '70 Stage 1 Bench seat car. Can't remember if it was an auto or manual car though...

Now I am really depressed because I thought everyone with a 4 speed was scrapping there kness when getting in or out.

I'm pretty sure thats the car that came from Tx to Wi, went through a few owners up here, then sold at the nats a few years ago, think it went for $16k or there abouts.

Tilt wheels ok with 4-speed, not with manual steering, I think??? :Do No:

I spoke with the owner today. Seems the transmission is not original either. Theres a T-10 in it now. The Stage 1 carb and distributor is missing. The rallyes are not WG's. Overall seems like a nice car. But with the engine and color not original either, Im curious if it will meet the reserve.

    :Do No:

    FYI -

'WG's started in the second half of the 1970 model year (probably in Dec '69 or Jan '70). This is why all GSXs (production in Feb '70) should have them.

Earlier 15x7 rallye rims would have a '7.0'. My spare rim, dated 10 31 (for an 11D car) has 7.0 on the rim. Duane Heckman did an article on the rim codes for the BPG Build Sheet a while ago where all the 15x7 wheels were identified and decoded.

    Thanks Duane! :TU:

    Tilt Wheel

Chris, I know what you mean because I'm 6'4".:eek2: . The 4-Speed and auto console cars take the same tilt column just use a back up switch intead of a neutral safty switch.:Smarty: AL.

STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

Just trying to digest all the info here.

So it doesn't have the original motor or transmission, the paint is not correct, and the wheels may be wrong ?

On the tilt wheel, I had one also in my 70 Stage 1 4 speed car.
Wish I still had that one!Bought it all correct, rebuilt motor, numbers matching, just needing total cosmetics for 3k back in the 1990's.

Spent 15k more on it and sold it for 13k (lost 5k)

We needed a house more at the time though :Dou:
