The time has come to sell my Stage 1. I have another car coming out of the body shop and could use the room. My intent in this add is to offer the car to the Buick community first before I post it on social media sites. Below is a description of the car and although verbose, may answer some of the common questions.

Meticulously restored over the last 15 years, this 1970 Buick Stage 1 is the result of a labor of love project. Although the car was in very good condition to start with, it received a body off restoration with a focus on extreme detail, culminating in the car that you see today.

This fully documented Stage 1 is the recipient of a high-level body off restoration utilizing many NOS parts. The combination of the Stage 1 engine, air conditioning and a turbo 400 automatic transmission makes it one of less than 1189 originally made. Now, add to that, the additional factory and dealer installed options of tach and gauges, tilt-wheel, AM-FM, map light, remote mirror, passenger mirror, vinyl top, rally ride suspension, posi-traction, power front disc brakes, power steering, upper peak moldings, it may be one of a very few made and even less that have survive today.

The multi-year body off restoration is documented by a 2-inch binder full of receipts. The 455 cu.in. was completely rebuilt with performance upgrades and although not matching numbers is the performance preferred 73 vintage block topped with a B4B intake. The engine build is documented with machine shop receipts and accompanied with engine dyno results. The original matching number “BB” turbo 400 transmission was also rebuilt with a slight shift kit. The rear end is a 10 bolt, 3:42 posi-traction unit. Bottom line, the mechanicals are solid.

The exterior of the car is beautiful. Painted in the cars original color of diplomat blue and is accented by a white vinyl top. It rolls on 15-inch rally wheels and G60-15 polyglas tires and matching spare. The chrome and stainless on the car are near perfect. The underside of the car is detailed to perfection with all new suspension parts and restored to equal the top side.

The beautiful and fully restored bucket seat and console interior is home to a custom wheel, factory tach and gauges, A/C (needs to be charged), tilt wheel, am-fm radio, and other desirable options.

The car has won a trophy in every show it has been entered. It holds a AACA first place at a recent national meet here in Florida along with several other awards and is listed in the Stage 1 registry. With such a beautifully restored and highly detailed automobile, I am sure I am forgetting many details so please call me at 786-269-5474 for more information. In conclusion, this is a fully documented Buick Stage 1 car that probably could not be replicated today at double the $77,500.00 asking price.

Juan....beautiful car, good luck with the diplomat blue car. I just re looked at the interview you did with Lou Costabile on your 70 Aqua Mist car...that is the nicest GS I have ever seen. I am a huge Aqua Mist fan and would love to be able to find one in as nice as shape as yours. If you ever decide to let the 70 Aqua Mist go, please let me know as I am within a 3.5 hour drive from you( I live in Sarasota). Again, good luck

Hi richny. Thank you for your comments. The diplomat Stage 1 is sold.

Although I was not thinking of selling the Aqua Mist Stage 1, I have received an offer that has started me to re-think that. Welcome to call me and discuss if you like.

Thank you all that have commented.

Yes, it's a great car and as mentioned in the add, could not be restored today at nearly double the price.
However, I can't keep them all. Next car on the bucket list is a 70 Judge or RAIV, anybody know of any??

Not sure that Judge is a IV, not that is the tell tale sign but where the hood scoops are would say IV and I am not seeing that , ad doesnt have much detail on the car, would need to reach out to seller.
Congrats to the new owner of the 70 GS Stage 1 beautiful car
