I have a 1970 skylark 2dr Sedan as stated above. Now I have 2 questions about this car. 1. Where the door jam is on my GS coupe there is a vent but on the post there is none. Is that normal or was this some sort of patch panel that was not finished. (pic attached) 2 Also you can see in the picture how sloppy the weld is between the panel and the post. Is this normal from the factory or normal wear? Or once again is this a sloppy patch job? Thanks Austin
Both "features" are normal and are factory/original. No QP jamb vent hole on the post cars and it's a seventies Detroit car......not a Rolls:TU:
I agree with pglade, both are how the car was built. A Chevelle 2 door sedan was the same way (no vent in the door jamb). Another thing different about '70-'72 Buick A-body cars that were built with vent windows is that if it is a non-A/C car, it has a different plastic dash cluster and dash pad than the other cars without a vent window. The non-A/C sedans had no vent on the LH side on the dash cluster and the dash pad has no vents, whereas the non-sedans have a vent on the LH side of the dash cluster and 1 vent in the dash pad, even on the non-A/C cars. I had never noticed this until I bought a '72 sedan with no A/C. I guess Buick figured that if a person in a sedan wanted some air, they should just crank open th vent window
