Very nice looking Buick! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...014QQitemZ330302474893QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
This is my friend's car....funny I just spoke to him 2 days ago and he did not mention he was selling it. I will call him tomorrow and find out.
1 of only 81 made. Another 1 of those 81 is local here. Too bad it's disassembled & not for sale. Same colour paint, interior & top. I had GM Canada verify the car a few years back....trying to buy it.
Beautiful color combo, I threw out the first bid:Brow: Today's market my guess is 50-55ish, o No: Definitly worth more. Hope he gets every dime he is asking for it. ray:
George, Your friend had this car long? Haven't heard about the local car in quite a while. Possibly the same car? 434671H139459 TR 155 PNT 53A It was all there less the original engine.
It's interresting seeing how many 71 stge 1 convertibles there are out there now that Rick Hendrick owns one for about a week. Coincidence? I've been trying for years to compile a lest of all remaining cars and have come across three or four new vin #'s in the past two weeks. That's more than I've gottten in the last 5 years. Maybe Marco can chime in on the subject too.
Guys..this car IS my business partners car. I went with him when he bought it back well over 15+ years ago. HE, along with many of us, are experiencing financial distrought. (remember, recently I sold my pride'n joy, '70 1010 GSX?!) Well, he HATES that he must sell the car as well, BUT, family sustainance, mortgage, insurance, health, taxes etc, are taking its toll on us all, slowly ruining our ability to live like we USED TO. This car is stunning! Tom performed an absolutely superb restoration. SOMEONE will buy a very VERY nice 71 Stage 1 convertible. SHORT of giving you the bottom line reserve $$...If you want answers to any other questions, just ask. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Donny...I can answer that question... Bob paid to have the car restored the way HE wanted it! :TU: Two years ago, his plan NEVER included the thought of selling it...EVER. AT ALL. Well, ya know things change. Nevertheless, it is still an absolutely gorgeous car! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
That car was at at the BOP show in Old Town back in October. It was parked across from me. The color is fabulous. The gold done in base/clear looks like you can step into it. The pics on ebay do not do justice. The overall qualiy is very good. Although I must admit I was somewhat disappointed to see the cowl and under side of the hood painted the car color. The hood would be an easy fix though. Overall a top notch car. -Mike
George/Dennis, I saw this car at BG last year and met your friend. He gave me a picture of his car after we talked about it and he showed it to me in the rain when it was loaded up on the trailer. Very nice guy, and a very nice car indeed. Did he ever sell it or does he still have it? I also would like to learn more about 71 Stage 1 convertibles that were Cortez Gold if anyone has any info. Not too much on Marco's site, and I remember reading about them all being early built cars and fully loaded.

Guys..his car is always available....he has entertained a few offers but the numbers just arent there on a local level. Lotta chevy guys around here. If you want to talk to Bob directly, lemono and I'll pm you his number! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
The reason the auction is closed is because it was from January 2009, but I revived the thread so I can learn more about the car that was for sale. Dennis - Is there any way you could get me the cowl tag info and options this car has? I think I have one of the sisters. :TU:
Sure Jim! I can tellya this... the late Lee Larson of Denver CO, has a sister car in a museum...Lees car was just two vin numbers ahead of Bobs!!! Probably 10-12 years ago at the Nationals, I got Richard Lassiter to do a GRUDGE MATCH twixt the two....only diff was Lee hada Ported B4B and a Osbourne rebuilt carb...Bobs has a non ported B4B and a Wheelz prepped carb.... The race was very close with Lee going ahead by almost 4 tenths iirc. The pix of that race was in the GSCA newsletter and I have a original pix of that race when Bobs car was "resale red" ....anyway, I'll see what I can do about numbers :TU: ...Wheelz, Tampa bay
Well...perhaps the economy has a lot to do with the "WHY" he still has it a year and a half later....? He KNOWS he will never get the $75K he has invested, and because of this, he is open to reasonable offers. James...here is a pix of the cowl tag. VIN pix coming soon. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
