I thought this was a very interesting car that certainly deserves to be restored. Does it belong to any board members here?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...020QQitemZ300202815764QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Interesting car. It was built that same week as mine and the body numbers (hard to read two last digits) are very close to mine. Wonder if he ever dropped the gas tank to look for paper?
This is the same car discussed here before when the owner from Ala had it for sale not too long ago. It would be a great looking car restored. However the claim that it only has "surface rust" has to be considered in light of the pics. It is always worse than the pics.
He said it has the wrong block but I still think this is a car I would love to see Mark Reeves get in his shop . Come on you big dollar guys make it happen !
If it is M38 trans is that not a turbo 350? Would make car an original 350 car. However that does look like an original upper radiator hose.
The auction mentions that the car comes with "the original GSX plate that came on the car when new". The plate DOES look different than any I've seen before. Anybody know if his statement could be true?
Its common to find the wrong build sheet in a car. These guys didnt know they were assembling collector cars back then
I put those on mine "back in the day". Now I have perfect wheel well trim- except for the drilled mudflap holes!ou:
GSx with non original motor, still worth some bucks. How high do you guys think this will go? He says surface rust, but those floors look worse than that.
This X was throughly discussed on this board about two months ago. There were some detailed pics that showed the entire area around the rear window was rusted clear through. Notice that the he doesn't mention that or show any pics of the sheet metal around the rear window. I guess he must have missed that!o No:
I noticed his Ebay name and we have a member here with the same name thats building a 70 Wildcat lowered car . Are they the same guy?
Here is the link to the old thread: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=144135 I don't know what happened after the Racing Junk ad ran or if the car sold, but the ebay seller is in PA. The best line in the current ebay ad is "This car is in excellant condition and will be a very easy restore".
The previous owner was in Alabama & bought the car when he was in high school. He told me he had owned it for about 20 years.
GSX - Yes 455 - Not sure how it came from Buick, as the M-38 points us in the 350 direction, the P-O-P has a T0 (350-2 which were not even an option on GS's  ) and a standard TH-400 BS code, Not BB or OW. Yet the BS 385 he states is on the trans tag and also on the P-O-P. sooooo Therefore I would put my money on this car being and orginal GSX 455, no stage...:dollar: The guy should look for the vin on the trans, and when you find it, you will know it is not a stage1. (I think the seller already knows this, which is why he NEVER mentions the vin). Yes, it needs to go to the Then and Now!
Like I said in the other thread about this car.. I was within 15 minutes of this car yesterday. I live an hour away, but do not know the seller. Wish I wasn't so broke and had too many cars...
