That's kind of high, even for NOS. You should be able to find some good used ones for a reasonable price.

he's trying to take your head off on those fenders....you need to be aware that in all likelehood the fenders will have to be partially cut apart to make them fit correctly....a problem that is present with a lot of the NOS fenders that people have right now. The first rule to learn on restoring these things is learn the market for the parts you are going to need...which you are doing by asking on this forum...otherwise it's easy to get buried in your project very quickly. You should be able to buy used fenders in the 100-350 range depending on condition....may be somewhat higher for perfect used. Good luck Patton

Pglade, can you explain why New Old Stock fenders would have to be cut apart? I have some (very little, I'm afraid) NOS stuff, and it fits like it should- perfectly. Shouldn't an NOS part behave like the original?

On the late run factory fenders, the fender and inner brace are welded together wrong, making the top of the fender too "flat," and it won't mate to the hood.

:jd: I think I may have replacement fenders, then. Never could understand why my fenders look flat on the top, when show car's look slightly rounded, and the hood's a tad high in one spot, but not others. For real, I thought it was just my lousy luck! I suppose it is, actually...

There was a great article about how to Identify these fenders by the BPG in the latest buildsheet. You should take a look at joining. great info being shared through them. good luck

    Duane,

I personnelly never knew of such a problem till that article explained the spot weld issue on the later fenders. Guys it is definetly a great read. I think there is a deal going with the BPG also something about signing up and getting back issues and your 2003 membership. not a bad deal.

I had a 70 Stage 1 4-speed that was 95% restored and had a set of those fenders on it. They pi**ed me off everytime I looked at them.
