In '72, I believe it is engine + trim (+ the '350' emblem on the quarters next to 'Skylark')which comprise the 'Skylark 350' model. Incidentally, the '350' emblem was a carry over from the '68 GS 350.
(quote)He's not saying that you can't get a 350 in a Skylark in 1970, which you obviously could. You just couldn't get a model of Skylark called a "Skylark 350" in 1970.(/quote) im still confused at the explanation given. its showing 4 diff models for skylark for 1970 package one of which is a skylark 350,code 35 also,please note the skylark v8 package....code 34 can someone elaborate? 1965-1971 Models 1st Digit - Division 4 = Buick 2nd and 3rd Digits - Series 33 = Special V6 (1965-67) 33 = Deluxe L6 (1968-69) 33 = Skylark L6 (1970-71) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 34 = Special V8 (1965-67) 34 = Special Deluxe V8 (1968-69) 34 = GS350 (1968-70) 34 = GS (1971) 34 = Skylark V8 (1970-71) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 34 = Sportwagon V8 (1970-71) 35 = Special Deluxe V6 (1965-67) 35 = Skylark V6 (1968-69) 35 = Skylark 350 (1970-71) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 36 = Special Deluxe V8 (1965-67) 36 = Skylark V8 (1968-69) 41 = Sportwagon V6 (1965) 42 = Sportwagon V8 (1965) 43 = Skylark V6 (1965-67) 44 = Skylark V8 (1965-67) 44 = Skylark Custom (1968-71) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 44 = Sportwagon V8 (1967-69) 46 = Skylark Gran Sport (1964-66) 46 = GS400 (1967-69) 46 = GS455 (1970) 48 = Sportwagon Custom V8 (1967-69
Alright, if you guys are waiting for an answer from me, I cannot help you hahaha. I don't know, and I'm definitely no expert. I merely understood what Hawken had stated, and tried to explain it in a clearer way. It doesn't make sense to me, either, but I believe he knows quite a bit more than I do, so I'm going to go with his explanation about there being no actual "Skylark 350" in 70-71 despite what the body code 35 says. I'm tapping out
Lol I think that 35 code in 1970 as being a "Skylark 350" is what's in question here. My thought are what was stated earlier as being a "trim" package that is different from the custom. Main difference I see is the trim that follows the upper part of the door. I wasn't really concerned with the "options" meaning the car came with a 350 so it's a "Skylark 350" that's not what I'm saying at all. I believe it's just an appearance thing.
