Is there suppose to be an emblem on the drivers side in the front between the wheel well and door (fender)?

    if so, what?

    thanks

Skylark had nothing there for '71.
On the Custom there were fake vent-ports made of pot metal.

That could be where teh small rectangular Buick Motot Division emblem goes. It's been a while but IIRC some models have that emblem placed at teh body line between the wheel opening and the back of the fender. It is Red in color. And is where the 455 or Stage 1 emblem would be on those cars.

Buick Motor Division emblems were only used on the GS w/350 engine. Never seen a Skylark with an emblem there.

If there are holes only on the drivers side, Then your car has had atleast one of it's fenders replaced at some point. A picture will tell us but as mentioned, It's probably for the 71 only custom fender trim.
