A neighbor and a car guy, not a Buick owner yet, has a real 1971 El Camino SS. 454 with a 4-speed and A/C as well. Polo Green with black buckets and the cowl induction hood. Original tranny and a 12 bolt posi. The engine is "built" and has Merlin heads. Headers with 2 3/4" dual exhaust. Also disc brakes upfront. All chrome & trim along with bumpers are straight & shiny. SS dash but the pad will need to be replaced. Both the bed and tailgate are about perfect. The A/C is missing the condensor & compressor. I have not driven the car but I have heard it and it looks and sits "right" ! $15,000.00 and he has alot more information and history on it. Contact pdumke007@Gmail.com Post El Camino in the title / subject line. Regards, Upstaged in Sw Michigan. I have some pictures of my 1969 EC in the member's rides section on the board here.
I've also got a '71 El Camino SS454, 4-speed with A/C (burnt orange, black bench seat interior, black vinyl top, black stripes on the Cowl Induction hood). My dad bought it 27 years ago and I've never seen another SS454 with 4-speed AND A/C. I'd say it's a pretty rare car (truck?). He definitely needs to advertise it on Team Chevelle website and also in the ACES (American Chevelle Enthusiasts Society) magazine.
Now posted on SW Michigan CL. Pretty big price reduction as well. Decent pix and he knows cars, although not Buicks! Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan.
