Hello All, It's sad for me to say, but I'm putting my 72 Buick GS convertible for sale :ball:. It's cortez gold with white interior and in fantastic condition. I am selling my house and have to move out of state. The pictures are under my profile in the Garage section. Message me if anyone is interested.
Sorry you have to sell, that's a very nice looking convertible. Also, please keep in mind that prospective buyers are required to post here in your thread to establish their place in line, so be mindful of that if you start seeing messages from members that have not posted here first.
Sure would have loved to buy that car back. I was in the market and looking . Now I have a major 455 GS convertible project on my belt right now. Timing sucks...LOL. Glad to see the car is just as nice as I restored it many years ago.:TU:
Yup. I'm in one of the Chicago suburbs. ---------- Post added at 10:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 PM ---------- Yup.. The car's still great. I took care of your baby.
Hey Kingdaddy - I met your son at the AllGM show a few years back. Nice guy! Why not buy this one back and sell the project? Something to think about anyway. - Bill
HI Bill That was my brother Duane if it was a 66 Buick Special. The thought crosssed my mind but 20 is not feasible right now.
Put me in line and I will ask a few questions. Is it a numbers matching? What color interior? Is it an factory AC car? What seat bench or bucket/ Thanks Bill.
Bill though not my car at this time,I used to own it and can answer the questions saving Izzy the time. I hope he does not mind as I am following along on this post. You may still want to double check with him Yes it was numbers matching (when I had it all numbers matched on the block, carb , transmission and rear) Original color is White interior and is correct, Top color is white It is a factory AC car Factory Bench seat car with fold down Arm rest. (1971 and 1972 buick convertibles skylarks where not availible unless SCO car for buckets) All the colors and info is just like on the cowl tag.
QUOTE Factory Bench seat car with fold down Arm rest. (1971 and 1972 buick convertibles skylarks where not availible unless SCO car for buckets[/QUOTE] Can someone please elaborate on this for me, we just bought a 70 Skylark with factory strato buckets, (driver's power), and a floor shift console. Is that rare? What does SCO mean? Is that like CPO in the Chevy world?
In the 1971 and 1972 model years bucket seats where not part of the option sheet to customers on the convertible. Hardtops however yes. In 1970 model year that was not the case you could get either. This was just for the buick convertible not other GM A bodies. SCO = Special Corporate Order. Why ? no one really knows. Can someone please elaborate on this for me, we just bought a 70 Skylark with factory strato buckets, (driver's power), and a floor shift console. Is that rare? What does SCO mean? A '70 with buckets and console is not rare, was an option. '71 and '72 was not an option. In order to do so car would be SCO...Special Car Order. This applied to convertibles for those two years. HTH
Too bad, I thought maybe this car was sorta special. It also has power windows, tilt wheel, and power drivers seat, and a few other neat options. Oh well, we like it anyway. :beers2:
Now that the Chicago winter and snow storms are over, I was finally able to get the car out of the garage. I'll have ti ready for show this saturday. dallas wasn't able to secure a loan for the car, so, it's still up for sale. Anyone else interested in buying it?
