Dave; Can't trade for anything, This would be a very easy clean up. Even the bushing in the door hinges are in great condition. Do you need more pictures?
This car and Jim H's make me cry if only the timing was 4 months later. Bench seat 4 speed, bare bones, and a trailer hitch , what else could you want? 17 million dollar lottery is friday night here, I loaded up on tickets. Bill ,
I too would kill for this car, but like others here have said it's just more than I have money for. The money tree isn't bearing fruit anymore:ball: Just for the record, I feel that this car will be the one everybody on the board will be kicking themselves for not buying for years to come. Whoever pulls the trigger on this one will be a happy camper down the road after the economic dust settles, election over, gas prices stabilize, etc. Good luck Brian, both with the sale of the car and the new business.:TU:
Bill & Tom Thank you both for the kind words. Just for the record, It makes me cry hard, and my stomach hurt really bad for selling this car. I going to load up on lotto tickets to Bill. This car is such a sweet driver.
Could someone please clarify some questions for me? Could the trailer hitch have been; Factory installed on the assembly line? (Could you have checked a box when ordering your car to get one?) Dealer installed? Drove off the lot and went to (say) U-haul and had it installed? I thought John told me that he checked a box when he ordered the car. Finally My alternater numbers are; 1100668 ___ (I think it says 37A) 4F26 12VNE Could someone break those numbers down and tell me if that is original? I am just guessing that 4F26 stands for (4) Buick (F) June 26 Yes, I know I should not have posted my questions in this thread. Just thought they might be more in the spot light here. Thank you in advance.
I owned a low mile 71 Skylark years ago and it had a hitch that looked identicle to this one. The car also had coil over rear shocks and positraction. The hitch looked factory installed to me. Todd
I had a '70 GS455 that I sold to Marty Green and I could swear the Sloan or Build Sheet indicated something about a factory trailer hitch.. I know when I bought the car the hitch was still on it and it looked exactly like this hitch setup.. 2 holes in the bumper and 2 holes in the frame were used... the ball tucked up real close to the bumper like this one shows...
I have ahd 3 of these including the 70 GS 455 convert that George N just sold and can be seen on his homepage. I still have a couple of these hitches laying around
Original alternator should be a 1102449 37 amp , or 1102448 55 amp optional w A/C . I don't have any other info than that. Sorry.
