Add 10% to sales price paid by the buyer as buyers premium. That brings sale price to over 35k. Probably a solid number for a car that appears to need some love.

Yea pretty strong money for that car imo, kinda odd actually ployglass, smog setup, then those goffy tailpipes, GS door panel emblems and topped off by that dopey steering wheel

Average rate for a clean 72 stage hardtop is 25 to 30k.
I wish they brought $40k+ on a regular basis and certainly should but it's just not where the market is,...yet

I've got an one owner matching # 72 stage myself,..

They would if owners would stand their ground and not give the cars away. Tired of the excuse that it's a Buick 72 GS stage one was the muscle car of the year. Only 728 made, it's not the dime a dozen Camaro or Firebird or Chevelle for that matter.

Agreed. People always use 70 as the high point due to the HP numbers but super easy to make 71 and 72 the same. You could argue they made improvements and had some neat options as well (mandatory discs on big block machines, better rear diff, N25, etc). The good thing thing is you can get yourself into a big block cheap enough compared to others.

For me, it isn't the HP that makes the difference, it is the bumpers and grille. And the lack of buckets/console on convertibles (other than SCO cars). I also prefer the waffle grain interior of the 70, even though it didn't hold up as well as the 71/72 interiors.

Fair enough. The 70 front is the best looking in my opinion as well, but the 71 back end with N25 is awesome. Agree on the verts. Usually what you hear/read though is "get the 70 it has more power..." They should ALL be commanding more money, but the market is what it is.

Still, it is sad to see Buick's top cars at the bottom of the heap when it comes to muscle car values compared to Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, Ford, and Mopar.

Low production, great cars. Only problem is that the low production is because they were not popular then, and they don't seem to be getting much more popular now. I don't know why in either case.

70 more power. It's 2017 c'mon most motors if rebuilt should match that power. My gosh ! Cams are better. Timing covers are better. Builders smarter. We are smarter.
Buick GS (stage 1). Just ain't bringing it. Brad Connelly said it right . On other threads. Not gonna happen. Good for the guy that bought that car. Did not see it in person. But I think that car was very nice. Maybe the smog set up scared people away. And Motor was not rebuilt. This is where we at. Not good

    docgsx It's not a GTX

I'm happy about the low dollar amount when I'm buying, not as happy when I'm selling one though!
