1972 buick riviera

  1. Changed battery and no lights horn radio nothing pulled and wiggled wire got radio but starter clicks turned wire some more car started. Turned it off started second time turned off turned key no lights horn nothing I have no clue what can be going on. Does a bad starter solenoid give you no power period or could it be something else.

    Before you keep shaking wires get underneath and check the wires at the starter motor. ALL wires. Make sure they are all tight and not able to touch anything else.

    What wires are you giggleing ??? Before you have a fire or meltdown check the main battery cables and starter wires.

  6. Just to follow up I went un der the car and the positive battery cable was fried. I changed it and fires right up thank you all for helping me with this. Also if anyone wants to know. The screw also does have the fusible cable attached to it looks like you have to remove the starter to work on them one is 10g which needs 14g link and the other is 12 g (headlights) need 16g link..
