72 Skylark Convertible -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...396921647&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MESELX:IT 1972 Buick Skylark Convertible 91,000 miles 350-2 AC, AM/FM I purchased the car from someone who flipped it to me from the original owner. The car is extremely solid. I have never had one of these cars with such a nice trunk. At some point in the car’s life the right fender was changed with a rusty one so there is plastic on the bottom of that fender. I will include a rust-free right fender. The car was supposedly repainted in the early 80’s, but there are no other rust repairs. There are spots of surface rust where the paint has failed. The very tip of the quarters at the back of the wheel opening are a little flaky, but the wheel arches and lower quarters are perfect. The original left fender is perfect. The left door bottom is solid. The right door is dented and has a small hole on the rear inside. It would be easiest to change the door along with the fender. The convertible top is in decent shape but has the common tear on each side. It has a nice glass rear window. Overall, the interior is in excellent shape. The seats are perfect. Unfortunately the door panels had aftermarket speakers installed at some point. It is a very original car. The chalk marks are still on the firewall. The car has brand new 15x7 American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels with 245/60/15 BF Goodrich Radial TA tires. The car includes the 14” steel wheels with original hubcaps. The car includes a nice original ’72 Skylark Custom metal grille, a rust-free right fender along with the following new parts: Repro dash wood-grain kit Repro glove box liner Aluminum radiator Radiator hoses Belts Distributor cap, rotor & points Spark plug wire set Ignition coil NGK spark plugs The car is currently registered and I drove it a bunch last summer. This would be a super easy restoration or just cruise around in it the way I did. I’m selling it because I’m considering a bigger project and I already have another toy. Unfortunately I only have the space for two cars. There are more pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/ecnacyprus/72Skylark# Thanks, Eric
I found a repro heavy trunk mat, brand new rear springs, KYB rear shocks and a '72 chassis manual that will also go with the car.
Brian, I guess I'm hoping the car will sell as I think the reserve is very reasonable. I have seen a lot of cars that look "cheap" lately though. If it doesn't sell, I'll have to decide how I want to proceed with it, but if I go in a different direction, I'd consider selling the wheels & tires. Thanks, Eric
I found repro door weathrstripping and truck weatherstripping that will be included with the sale. Eric
Make sure the payment clears before you send the car to the shippers. ive seen a buddy get into a mess with the fbi because an oversees buyer bought a car and sent a fake check.
Thanks. When he first contacted me, I was a little worried... you know... Nigerian scam. He had a friend of his in CT, bid on the car, pay me in cash and pick it up. Doesn't get better than that. Interesting side note... the guy just sold his real COPO '69 Camaro and buys a Buick!
Hi and congrats! We have here, in V8Buick forum, few members from Sweden, Norwegian and Finland. We can also give some help, if you wanna check backrounds of buyer who comes from Scandinavian. World is small:TU:
