Did I see some frame rot?

Oh it needs some love, but I like it. Looks like a square that was cut out? You see the driver's rear lower old school quarter repair. This is an above average beater, drive as is.

Shouldn't the driver's side air cleaner inlet be a triangle instead of square for 72?

Yes & the AIR pump is missing which is why the '70-1 air cleaner fits.

Exactly. A lot to like. BAT is probably not the place to sell it but... Unusual color & no vinyl top.

Very early build (Sept '71) might have come without the A.I.R. pump but, I think I see the mounting bracket for the pup above thee power steering pump?

Would make a great car for the Power Tour as is!

Never say never but you are correct. I thought that was a 70 color, owned a bunch of 72’s but only remember that color on Race Lutz’s wicked 70 Stage that he and John C. built. Loved that car.

I asked if the original distributor that was under the “replaced” list was retained.

Pop rivet quarter...think she's been hit hard in rear. Neat car though.

Hell if I could sell the 50 Chrysler I’d go after this one and just drive it.

I figured it was rust repair but...

After looking at my non running junk for years those rivets wouldn’t bother me in the least:)

Perhaps, but there is plenty of evidence that it was a pretty good rear impact. The bumper gap on the right side is too tight. Gaps and mud on right side. Trunk gutter ain't right. Pulling back the cover in the trunk should be telling.
