By the way: they're selling parts from this car, or the entire car for $450 at Picture Car Ware House, 18643 Parthenia St, Northridge, CA 91324 Click here for the listing on their website
I hope that the busted windshield was caused by something other then someone's head. Edit: If that Riv were mine, I'd want more then $450 for it.
Something is fishy about that website? They have a '66 Skylark vert listed for $450 that looks good. I mean, no body damage, a decent ragtop. and the interior even looks good!
The name of the place actually shows up on a google map when you search the address. I've never seen that with a scam. But something does seem weird.
It said something about ‘picture cars’; maybe it’s someone connected to film or TV. The filming I’ve seen in Georgia indicates that spending money is not an issue and saving/making money is not a priority. They also have people involved in the ‘car wrangling’ and procurement who aren’t ‘car people’. I could see that Riv being chosen on a whim, bought for too much, wrecked and discarded with no regard to actual value or repairability. Patrick
I already checked out the location on Streetview, the first time the name of the company showed up was in June 2017:
Likely they charge bigger money to film industry and then dump inventory which they deem of no use for that venue. In a business world, things look different than to those who see "possibility" of a pearl in a rusty crusty oyster.
https://picturecarwarehouse.net/car-listing-grid/ Looks legit to me (In case you can't hear it, there is lots of sarcasm in that statement). If those are legitimate listings, I will buy every one of them and start my own car lot.
Since it says, "vehicle can run & drive enough to position on set", I think $450 is the rental price; not sales price.
