Last week I received a film ("8mm in a cassette"; unknown format for me). Bought it on Ebay. Thought it was just fun having it, besides owner's manual, dealer brochure, chassis service manual etc.:

The ad said it was an instuctional film bout the 73 Riviera especially for salesmen and mechanics.
Curiosity made me go to a company specialized in putting this 8mm smallfilm on DVD (even they didn't know those cassettes).
Today the DVD came with the mail. Not knowing what to expect, I played the 7 minutes promotional DVD.
Great stuff :jd: ; some pictures:

    VERY COOL! :TU:

Now an of the 73' guys repainting their engine know the factory correct colors. I wouldn't mind having a promotinal dvd.

That won't be any problem, but for I live abroad shipping will cost a huge amount of money. Total costs here were about $35 for 7 minutes  , mucho dinero, but hey..... it's a hobby  I'm pretty sure that in NY (Alan) you can find a company which is able to transfer the 8mm into DVD format. I did a Google search and found out that there were several in a 80 mls radius from here)
For I have DVD burner since last week and still have to find out how that thing works (specially PAL/NTSC region codes etc., so it is playable within US) it will take some time (I've got a job as well  ) before I can make some copies and send them over (I will add some more Buick DVD stuff on it, so it won't be only these 7 minutes :Brow: ). I will let you know.

I used to work in the audio-visual department of a college and we had old 8mm projectors which were called "loop film projectors", they played similar cassettes. Maybe some local schools might still have these, I kept quite a few things that we didn't need anymore but I don't think I have one of these.
Here is a picture of one I found on the web.
