Got my carb from Everyday Performance and I am very impressed:Brow:, well exceeded my expectations (and they were pretty high!) and further proved that half the battle was getting the correct carb on my car.

So now there are some logistics issues on my end so far as running the throttle cable correctly. Not having been familiar with a Qjet I was unaware that 75 and later used the slotted stud type as opposed to the factory ball type connector for the throttle cable.

I couldn't bring myself to throw the Holley back on so I did some creative problem solving using parts from one of my Chevy Qjets. There was a hole below the factory throttle cable mounting position, a bolt with another throttle stud was put through it and extended about 2 inches past the throttle arm. I cut the stud off, grinded it flat and drilled and tapped a hole for my Holley throttle stud. Works great except for the fact that my throttle cable is now traveling 2 inches to the right as well as an extra inch up (spacer) from the factory location and this is a 2bbl throttle cable:eek2:

My pedal travel is now less than desirable (Wot happens before the throttle reaches the firewall and the pedal sits much lower than it should), it now takes a featherweight foot to maintain civilized acceleration (makes for some fun in the pouring rain:Brow:) and I have a heavyweight return spring just to be safe.

Everything has been checked for binding and all is safe. Now its just a matter of comfort and drivability. Will a universal style cable contain what I need to successfully use the stock gas pedal mounting position? Will I need a new throttle cable bracket as well? (adjustable?)

Thanks for any advice guys, can't wait to see what kinda efficiency I can get with the Qjet, but for now I guess I can get used to some spirited driving:3gears:
